What has happened to the church today?
Something seems to have disappeared.
You walk inside the church doors,
Why does everything feel so weird?

The man reads the morning announcements,
papers and bulletins rustling about.
But what was it that must be missing?
What is it that we’ve left out?

The piano and organ ring with music.
Everyone stands up to sing a song.
Although not one person is happy,
What is it that went so wrong?

The offering plate is passed among them,
it is full of dimes, nickels, and change.
But yet the people are rich and wealthy,
What is it that seems so strange?

A man walks in during the service,
leather jacket, boots and hat he wore.

that kind never steps in the door!
