And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:31-32

A Christian…. Recognizes and accepts the fact that he/she is guilty of being a sinner. All are guilty of sin and can do no other without the saving grace of God.

– Jesus died to save people from their sins…”And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

– We are sinners! Christ didn’t die to make people “feel good” but to save them from their sins. “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15

– Christ didn’t die for the righteous, but for sinners… “And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:31-32

A Christian…. Is a person who takes seriously the Bible’s answer to man’s problem.

Man’s problem: Man has a bad heart. Man is depraved.

The Answer: The Cross! God sent His son to die!
“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” I John 4:10

A Christian … Manifests in his own life that his claim to be a Christian is real. Do as God calls us to do… and walk as Jesus walked. “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” I John 2:3-6

Would others know you are a Christian by the way that you live your life? Are you showing others that your claim to be a Christian is true and real?
