“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12

ANOTHER EXCUSE

It’s easy to blame another, for something we do or say.
We often find some excuse, to throw someone else’s way.

We all hate to admit we sin, when we do wrong and fail.
We don’t want to be talked about, and look weak and frail.

We lie and make up stories, to protect our precious name.
We continue to sin over again, because we don’t accept the blame.

Admitting you have done wrong, is step one to a clean heart.

So stop the lying and the cheating, And make a brand new start.

–Susan M. Swann

One of the first events we read in God’s Word deals with the issue of accountability. Eve sins and blames it on the serpent. Adam sins and blames it on Eve. Neither of them wanted to be held accountable for their actions. We can’t blame others for what we do. We are each held responsible for whatever we do. Whether it’s an act of obedience of disobedience. Remember, God will hold YOU accountable for what YOU do. Are you ready to be held accountable to Him?

Point your fingers in God’s Word, not at others.
