“But what am I supposed to do?”
“Where am I supposed to go?”
“How am I supposed to handle this?”
So many questions… so many questions…. soooooo many questions.
But I don’t want to focus on the questions that we ask of God. I want to focus on the answers that we get from Him.
God often speaks to us when we least expect it. And that was the case for me today. I have been praying about something for a long time. And I have sought “wise counsel” and both people gave me the same advice. So even though it was hard for me, I figured that since two people were saying the same thing (not knowing what each other had said), that I should listen. So I have.
Today, this situation was very much on my mind. And I brought it to the Lord in prayer, yet again. And God spoke to me. This time I didn’t have to approach anyone about it. I didn’t hint around to anyone about the situation. I didn’t say a word. But then, lo and behold, on Facebook I read a status and replies from one of my friends. And it was as if God displayed a flashing neon sign for me.
What an amazing God we have!!
God may not answer us in the ways that we expect Him too. But rest assured, He always answers us!
I sat alone in the silence
waiting for God to speak.
Praying and calling out
the throne of God to seek.
I wondered how much longer
He would wait to reply.
But then it hit me suddenly
I forgot to even try!
I didn’t try to listen
to what God was saying.
I was too busy talking
in my time of praying.
I wasted so much precious time
making sure He did hear.
That I missed the point,
the purpose of drawing near.
Praying is not just talking
and telling God my complaints.
Praying is about worship
and lifting up other saints.
Praying is for building up,
to repent and to forgive.
It’s about talking to God
every day that we live.
But prayer is often wordless,
not a sentence for you to speak.
It’s to align our heart with His
and for His will to seek.
May we go to prayer today
and listen more than we talk.
And then let us live boldly,
and go out and walk the walk!
God speaks. Are you listening?
