Right now I’m sitting in Panera Bread… the only place I have internet connection right now. My Mom’s neighbor was more than willing to let us use his wireless connection, and that was something my husband was counting on (so he could work from here). Well, the man was kind enough to give us his “passcode” for the secured network and tells us to call him if we had any problems. My husband tries to log in using the passcode he gave…. no connection. He tries another variation, thinking that maybe a zero was an “O”…. no connection. He tries thinking that an S is a 5, a V is a U, etc… Still…. NO CONNECTION! Ok, so I tell him to ask the man for the passcode again. Well, he wasn’t home. So let’s sum up the first night here …. wrong passcode = no work for my husband. Obviously yesterday was a workday for this man, so we leave a note for him on his door, saying that the passcode didn’t work. And gave him my husband’s phone number. Instead of waiting at home, my husband drives up to Panera bread. Sitting in the van with 2 very antsy boys. :) He was able to get a few things done, but really needed the internet connection at the house. So let’s sum up yesterday afternoon…. waiting for neighbor to come home + working from Panera Bread = little work done for my husband. Last night the man came home. My husband reluctantly went to the door and knocked. No Answer. Rang the doorbell. No answer. So let’s sum up last night …. ringing the doorbell + no answer from the man = no work for my frustrated hubby. I’m not sure if we’ll get that passcode or not. But what I do know is that I will be thankful for sitting at this little table in Panera Bread. It may be temporary but at least I have access for right now! :) Now I just know you are waiting to hear how this ties in with our spiritual lives. So here goes… 1. Wrong code. If you are using ANYTHING other than God’s Word to gain access to the “mind of Christ”, then you are using the wrong code!!! 2. Work while you wait. While you are waiting for God to work in a situation, you must continue to work yourself! We cannot just sit back and wait for God to work while we are being lazy ourselves. We have a responsibility too! 3. No Response. When you don’t get a response from God right away, keep trying! He is always there, but He may choose not to respond to your request in your time. So keep on “ringing the bell” and “knocking on the door”. Don’t give up!! 4. Be thankful. We need to be thankful for all that we have. While we may be waiting for God to respond about a certain request, let us be thankful that we have a God that listens to us in the first place! A God that has answered us in the past, and promises us that He will continue to answer us in the future! As I close this and get ready to leave this wonderful place, (boy we need one in Dover!) I just want to thank everyone who has been praying for me and my family during this rough time. God is truly giving us joy in the midst of our trial. And I know it’s because you all have been using the right passcode!!! :) Have a great day!!
